Who We Are

At Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ in our community. Rooted in faith and compassion, our mission is to restore hope, uplift lives, and serve those in need through practical outreach and spiritual encouragement.

We believe in the power of service to transform lives, and we express this belief through our key ministries:

  • Food Bank: We provide nourishment to individuals and families facing food insecurity, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.

  • Senior Citizen Outreach: We honor and support our elders with programs designed to provide companionship, resources, and encouragement in their golden years.

  • Community Activity Space: Our doors are open to offer a welcoming environment for fellowship, growth, and enrichment, fostering unity and engagement.

Guided by the love of Christ, we seek to make a lasting impact, bringing restoration and renewal to all who walk through our doors. Whether you are in need, looking to serve, or seeking a place to belong, you are always welcome at Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries.

History

History of Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries

Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries (DROM) began with a simple but profound mission: to stand in the gap for young people who often face life’s greatest transitions alone. Originally founded as First Family Ministries, the organization focused on supporting youth aging out of foster care a population that often enters adulthood without the stability, guidance, or resources needed to thrive. Through mentorship, life-skills development, and community support, First Family Ministries laid the foundation for what would become a broader, more holistic outreach mission.

Innovating for Youth Employment: Spokes of Hope Community
Bike Center

In pursuit of practical, hands-on employment pathways for teens and young adults, DROM launched a new initiative under the LLC Spokes of Hope Community Bike Center. The organization purchased and outfitted a trailer to create a mobile bike shop, a unique model designed to:

  • Provide youth with paid employment

  • Teach mechanical and entrepreneurial skills

  • Offer mobile bike repairs and community programming

  • Bring resources directly to neighborhoods with limited access

This initiative represents DROM’s commitment to equipping young people not only with jobs, but with transferable skills, confidence, and career readiness.

A Permanent Community Home: Phyliss R. Ewell Resource/Recreation Center (2025)

In 2025, Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries took a significant step in its long-term vision by purchasing the Phyliss R. Ewell Resource/Recreation Center, a facility named in honor of Pastor Eric L. Ewell’s mother.

This center is being developed into a vibrant community hub that will house DROM’s expanding programs, including:

  • Youth development and mentoring

  • After-school and summer enrichment

  • Senior activities and wellness programs

  • Workforce development and entrepreneurship initiatives

  • Community events, recreation, and family engagement

  • Partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, and service providers

The acquisition of this building anchors DROM’s commitment to restoring hope, dignity, and
opportunity in the region providing a stable, accessible space where individuals and families can
grow, heal, and thrive.

Today

From its beginnings as a foster youth support ministry to its current role as a multifaceted community development organization, Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries stands as a testament to the power of restoration, vision, and faith in action.

Every initiative reflects the same core belief: empowered people transform communities.
